The outer headlight lens for my drivers side headlight broke and I need to replace it. I find a YouTube from a guy where you can replace just the lens. I do have the washer sprayers but how do I tell exactly which head lights I have? HID, Xenon.

 

On an '05, you most likely have HID. You can test it by turning them on. Conventional Halogen turns on "instantly", whereas the HIDs take a second or so to come to full brightness.

 

Okay I must have HID because I noticed a when I first got this car that when you turn on the headlights they appear to open up from the bottom up as if they are stowed down in a closed position. So if that's the case then I just need to look for an HID head light with the wiper spray option?

Your 2005 XK8 came from the Factory with HID Low Beams and Halogen High Beams...Your description of the Low Beams coming-up when you turn them on fits the HID's perfectly...If the outside Glass Cover is broken you will need to find a good one in a Wrecking Yard or buy the whole Light, which was made by Genuine. I saw where you could buy a new one from CarID or you can get them from Dave in Scotland....https://www.xk8-parts.com/contact-us/ Dave is also a source for the Black Rubber Gasket that goes between the headlight and the Fender. Jaguar doesn't sell these anymore!

Tip for you. When you have removed the headlamp to swap the front bit over first heat the clips with a hairdryer etc. If you do not soften them first they will snap.

You will also find the screw underneath the headlamp a real bar steward to remove. Id advise cutting the head off it and not replacing it.
