Default Need Help on Fuses. Made a stupid mistake.

I was getting ready to change the valve cover gasket, and wanted to see if my wrench would clear before I started. I didnt notice that the lug on this fuse box was exposed and the rubber cap was off and touched it with the wrench creating a spark. ( I was going to remove the battery next just wanted to be sure I had the correct tools ) Now the car is totally dead, as if there is no battery. I checked the multi colored fuses, . Also, if the fuse blown is not in this box, where should I be looking? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The beige colored boxes are relays, not fuses.

Do you have a multimeter? Can you look for voltage between that lug and ground?

(And thanks for the reminder that I really need to get a cover for that spot myself)

Yes, I shoudl have corrected myself, RELAYS, not fuses. HOWEVER, I think I may have blown the 250 amp fuse. I just have to locate that.

When I did a quick search through the forums I found mention of a 250 amp megafuse in the trunk.

It appears that I need to be looking at the High Power Protection Module. However, I cannot see how to remove the covers adn do not want to damage them trying.

Most auto parts stores should have them.
Amazon has them too Amazon has them too
. Also ought to be in every wrecked/deceased X100 so easy to acquire used vs new.

And let's amend your warning, lest you strike fear into those who DIY. How about...

"Disconnect the battery before you do anything stupid!!!".

Quick question since you were just in there, is there any trick to opening the High Power Protection Module? Does it snap open?

I've been meaning to stick a socket in there to make sure my bolts are tight.

I found that squeezing the box on each side while GENTLY prying with a small slot blade got them off. THere are two tabs on each side near the center holding them on.
