Hi
we are mounting all the parts of the engine but I do not remember the tube ( vacuum hose ) that goes connected to the outlet elbow of the volumetric compressor( see photo ) where it is connected in the other end.
I believe that hose will provide a measure of the boost level after the supercharger has compressed the charge,
so it will go to the fuel pressure regulator, and air bypass value actuator, and to a boost gauge sensor if you have added one.
Chirpy is pretty much right but I'm not sure about it going to the bypass value actuator! Mine goes to the Fuel Pressure Regulator (For sure) But before it gets there, I've Teed it off to the Boost Gauge on my Water/Methanol System.....I don't recall it going to the throttle-body at all....In other words, from the super-charger to the Pressure senor. Unless you have tee-it-off to the (Boost-Gauge)!
I hope you have Ported your Heads after all the work you've done on your Intake system....
I certainly might be wrong on the bypass valve, that's how I have it on the twin screw but its a different bypass valve, and to be honest I can't remember how it was on the stock bypass, maybe it just works on post throttle/pre-supercharger vacuum like most of the other bits and pieces (brake booster, part load breather, fuel evap, etc.). So probably ignore the bypass valve comment.....
Originally, the Hose came off the S/C through that little neck and went to the Pressure Sensor.....I Teed it and ran another hose to the Boost Gauge.....anyway, that's the way it's hooked-up today....
Tell us how you like the 2-Screw....Love to see some Photos of it all installed!
hi and thanks at all!
maybe for me it would be helpful to see some photos (or videos) of the original XKR 4.2L so I understand better. if anyone can do it, it would be welcome!
A couple Photos, as it's hard to get to as most of it is under the Right-Side Intercooler....Photo shows the Hose coming off the S/C and runs down and toward the front of the Engine where it plugs into the connection by the Fuel Pressure Sensor....Hard to get up there to shot Photo.....On mine there is a "T" between the two, which runs to the Pressure Gauge on my Dash....These are the only connections.....On the photo of the Engine, you can see where the Hose comes up and turns back to plug into the Sensor.
Hope this helps! Billy Clyde
Here's the Hose Plugged into the S/C The Hose comes up over on the Right-side in front of the Intercooler
