Default Need info on missing trunk panel mount

the forward trunk panel of my 2004 XK8 is loose and warped -appears to be missing
a mounting strip or clips or? there are 2 slots in the sheet metal panel behind the carpeted panel
that look like they may be mounting points ?
Prethanks for any advice or help

Be aware, the gas tank is vertical between the back seat and trunk space so don't go drilling into it.

Good to know! thanks for that info! the vertical steel panel behind the carpeted panel is painted blue so i assume I could drill into that
to use a few short screws?

The car in the video above is a coupe. As you have found, there is an extra panel on the convertible. Please add the extra detail to your sig.*

On the coupe, the rear trim is 'held' by the trunk side trims and some strips of velcro attached to the fuel tank restraining straps. Looking at picture #3 in the tutorial on member Gus' site:
JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

there seem to be a couple of similar strips attached to the metal panel you have in front of the tank itself.

It's a bit of a half-hearted effort, TBH. The velcro isn't really up to the job, and neither is the glue used to attach it

thanks for all that info..as a new owner I had no clue.
I am afraid since the panel is warped velcro may not hold it in place
I was considering using some nice chrome sheetmetal screws with a counter sink bezel washer
I also have some OEM /GM black trim screws that would not show as much
There are 2 oval shaped slots in the metal panel on each end that look like
mounting points for the carpeted panel?
