Default No start after replacing battery

Jump started car to bring into shop. Replaced battery but will not start. Starts and runs fine while connected to a jumper box though. Any help would be appreciated

Easy to put the battery in backwards and fries the alternator voltage regulator . I think charging cables reversed will do the same . Been there , and a garage will sometimes as well . Had a part for the X308 voltge reg on Ebay as the rest of the alternator should be OK . It will blow a couple of other fuses so you'll have to pull all of them and inspect one at a time .

Is there a fuse map for the X308 that someone can post ?

Welcome to the forum Stephen,

I have to make assumptions because there is absolutely nothing in your forum profile other than the fact you are somewhere in the US.

1. Make - has to be a Jaguar
2. Model - high probability it's XK8 or XKR
3. Year - no idea
4. Jump start - sudden dead battery on an otherwise reliable vehicle or some history of issues that could be relevant?

It's very easy to fry sensitive electronic components on these vehicles if they are jump started the wrong way. It's all in the details .......

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Disconnect the battery cables from the battery and use a VOM and measure battery voltage at the terminals. You should have between 12.5 and 13.5 volts. Anything lower and the battery is BAD.
If you have 12.5 to 13.5 volts the clean and polish the posts and the cable ends. You have a high resistance connection.
Since the vehicle will start with cables connected to the outside of the terminals it is either battery or connections.

This is a link to the fuse map on page 208 . I don't know what year this is for ( looks like for 2012 ) but Avern1 listed some differences :

But then I mixed up the X100 for the X308 .

If it starts and runs with a jump connection the fuses must be okay. That is, if it's being jumped at the battery.

Yes on what RJ237 said , but you can find a couple like on my X300 , instrument panel , stereo and something else can't remember . To test the alternator you can remove it and the auto parts store will spin it up and test on a machine for free .

+1 to post #2 from JagV8 . . . but with total lack of info from OP, followed by total lack of feedback from OP . . . heck it could be anything from any of the other guesses so far, right through to "pop the bonnet/hood and check no-one has swiped the engine".

Not helpful? Well, nor is a request for help from a shop that should know enough about these cars to at least provide relevant data.
