Was just looking for the OBD II connection on our newly acquired XK8 (2005) and was unable to locate it. Thought it would be near driver's (US) left knee, but couldn't see a connection; then looked on passenger (right hand) side, also to no avail.

Does a panel need to be removed? Am I looking in the correct general area?

Very easy to miss. Not sure on US cars but on Uk cars it is by the right knee.

Easy way to see, open door, follow the curve of the dash downward and then look up, you should see it.

 

UK cars that would be on the right-hand side looking toward front?

 

Correct.

 

It is on the left (driver's side) on US cars, but same principle...follow along the curve of the edge of the dash downward, then look up.
