Be sure to check the valve body for the new style pressure regulator valve.

Here is a TSB (Not a Jaguar TSB)

the trans temp sensor is integral with the wiring harness inside the trans. I would replace the harness not since its apart. I do not believe its avail seperatly but maybe someone else knows differantly

Good additions Brutal and Bob. Viscous has been dealing with this for many months and could use the fresh perspectives.

I'm sorry to hear that, I suppose a immobile car would be rather difficult to sell. Put a tarp over her, get the tires off the ground, and maybe get a fresh start on it when your world slows down and you're ready to tackle it again. We'll be here when you do.

There's been some recent activity on the boards in regards to the ZF5hp24 transmission, if you have some time, browse the xk8 and xj8 areas.

I don't know if this will help. But you can read thru my issues with the 5hp24. the part you might find of interest is the photo's and comments on the tear down of the unit from a land rover.

I tore mine down, it looked brand new, in fact like it had been recently rebuilt... Had a trans guy do the same, he came to the same conclusion. Now the car will be put back together and trouble shoot from there...again...
