Default One less Bucket List item.

Just completed a round trip from northern Georgia to Key West. It has always been one of my wishes to drive there in a sports car with the top down!

My '02 XK-8 was just the car for the journey, which was exactly 1924 miles, and she ran purrfectly!

I am jealous that you could drive with the top down in January!

Malcom
I'm glad you had a nice trip. Did you miss the severe weather? It looks like Georgia got hit pretty hard. Good Luck to everybody down there.

We got home on Tuesday, the day before the bad weather. The Keys and central Florida were in the mid 80s, so yes, it was nice to have the top down in January. Visited Hemingway's house and scritched several 6-toed cats!

BTW, the really bad stuff passed about 30 miles south of us

Mcook,

Glad you missed the blow, but it came through Ellijay. Lost a piece of dog pen fence, 7 BIG white pines and the tree guys are still here. No damage to buildings.

Also glad to find another car in the neighborhood. Other than an '01 XKR garage queen I think I am the only XK8/R in the county. We ought to meet for lunch one fine day in the Georgia Mountains!

And welcome to the forum!

Sounds like a great trip made better by it being a bucket list item.

Please, for the rest of us, post some pictures! Cats in their natural habitat are always a welcome addition to the posts.

Well done Malcolm for making a 'driving a Jaguar' post.
An alien arriving on the forum could be forgiven for thinking we spend all our time taking them to pieces.

Good to hear luck was on you side with the extreme weather conditions.

Graham

Well done! I'm sure that was a gorgeous trip. I just drove to Orlando for a week from Dallas last month (but in an Escalade) and back. Really wanted to get down to the Keys for a day, but didn't have time. Weather was gorgeous- 60s and 70s, almost totally dry and sunny. I wished I had trailered the XKR out there to enjoy it more!
