Painting coil pack covers
I have noticed while watching a few videos that some of you have the Jaguar lettering on the plastic cover over the coil packs painted in white or silver. It looks great and I would like to try it. How do you do it so that it looks good....... Other than a very steady hand , which I don't have
I assume that it would be wise to use high-temp paint as well.
This is something to do for days when it's too cold to go out in the garage and do "real work"

My 2005 XK8 came with what appears to be factory-painted lettering on the coil pack covers, which does stand out nicely. You might find/make a stencil to fit the lettering and then spray paint them with high temp paint. Or, you could free-hand paint them with a brush if you have a steady hand or an artist in the family.
One word of caution; if you haven't pulled the coil covers off in a long time, be cautious when you remove them. The molded pegs in the covers dry out and get brittle over the years, get stuck on place, and can break off. Then you'll have another project recreating the pegs with some JB Weld.(ask me how I know...).

A PDF stencil would be nice to paint them on; since the R is peeling on one, and the other car actually had had the cover replaced since the seal went to pot and let coolant in when the overflow tank leaked.
