I removed the passenger seat on 2003 xkr to do some work and after moving the seat from one place to another in the lock up this part revealed itself. Can anyone suggest we're it goes please?

The bracket is one of four; one each at the front securing bolts for the two seats. They go between the seat frame and the floor. Their purpose seems to be to prevent the carpet rucking up and jamming seat movement

The need to prevent the carpet riding up is the same for both seat tracks, so it makes sense to duplicate the arrangement.

Also I've been the only owner of my XK8 since it was three years old and just coming out of warranty. It's not been worked on in that area by any one but me since then, so I think that was the original arrangement in mine.

Great stuff. Thanks very much for the help. On my 1999 convertible there are simple washers , this is obviously a proper job.
