GRRRRRRRR!!!!! Dealer charged $94!!!! for the filter. Had to order it. Returned to have it installed. "Oh, the box to hold it has been removed from your car. No parts stores have it. Don't worry about it, the next oil change is on me." No apology. No refund offer (it will be obtained). Apparently, no understanding of Jaguars.

This soundly confirms this dealer is the WRONG place to go for service. I'd better cool down before I change my oil so it doesn't end up on him.

Oh well---just put the top down and blow all the pollen out. IMHO, I wouldn't mess with a filter in a convertible.

Good point Mountain Cat. It doesn't make much sense to filter what comes through the vent and open up the whole, unfiltered top of the car. Duh.

I guess I should recognize, too, that replacing the filter is on the 100,000 mile check list.

I just checked my 2003 XKR convertible for this filter but it was not installed on my car. Then the thought occurred to me, why do I need this filter when I almost always drive with the top down???

Brutal has already posted that the XK series here in the U.S. was not fitted with a cabin filter until the 2007 model year. Our local Jaguar dealership's parts department confirmed that. But a customer service rep at Jaguar Corporate USA told me that our 2006 XK8 was built with a cabin filter, although he had no idea where it was....

Given the choice, I'll take Brutal's word for it....
