Should we keep the kids indoors and off the streets this afternoon?

Find some string backs to keep the vintage Jag attitude.

Haha, you guys are alright !

So I just picked it up an hour ago and drove it back to work. I took the senic route through "The Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore" (Federal Park). The road follows the Southern-most shore of Lake Michigan (One of the "Great Lakes" here in the States, near Chicago). From the State of Michigan, through Indiana and on to Illinois. Native American Indian country.

IT WAS AWESOME.......Sure turns some heads ! She's all detailed up from the dealership !

JAZZCAT
Welcome to the club. One of my favorite colors. Beautiful drive Lake Michigan. Camped many seasons at the Indiana Dunes State Park, till we got too rowdy, found a camp ground just over the border in Mich. and camped there many years also. I'm sure you enjoyed that ride back, It's always a thrill to drive the cat for the first time. Happy Motoring. Have you found out about your tensioners? If not pull the valve covers and find out immediately.

Just got home. Put 60 miles on her after work. Not a hickup, but I did really "baby" her.......She's firm and quiet and solid.

There was an unfamiliar smell at times....like engine detail stuff burning off or new pads and rotors burning in. No smoke.

Because I'm paranoid from reading problem after problem on this forum, my first thought was an electrical fire, or an oil leak on a hot exhaust manifold, but after an hour of suburban traffic, it subsided. I really think it's all the detail stuff used under the hood.

I'll pay close attention tomorrow on the drive to work.

Several compliments and stares allready !!!

I planned on reading the owners manuel cover to cover tonight, but that'll have to wait.

Took off work early and took the loooong way home. Smell is totally gone. I'm 99% sure I duduced it correctly being under hood detail crap like armour-all.

The brakes are amazing. I couldn't image Brembo's. I went through a high-pressure touchless car wash....I've never had a convertible that didn't leak somewhat....not a drop, IMPRESSIVE

I saw a '99, one senior owned, triple black, with 31k miles on craigslist, WITH NO PHONE #, posted at 3:24pm, for $9200. I emailed the reply addy at 3:28pm. I'm sound asleep and my phone rings at 10:30pm. I NEVER get calls, especially at night. A man tells me that i emailed him about his Jaguar and i immediately became WIDE AWAKE. He says he will be through playing golf the next day at 1:30 and i could come see & drive it at 2:00pm...of course i was there!!! As the car was making its way down the scenic drive from the ocean front condos, it took my breath away...stunning!!! The 78 yr old gentleman showed me the car and we then took it for a short drive. We got back and i said ' i'll take her'. I offered $9,000 and he agreed to $9,100.

That was 2 years ago, this month and the only problem i have had is, i've had to replace both rear quarter regulators and i replaced a slow leaking thermo housing, with the metal one and it runs & drives like a dream.

Craigslist can work, you simply have to make good judgements!

Odd you were looking at 03-06 and only found 95-01.
What happens to the 02??
That's what I found, bought and have had to fix several things the previous simply didn't maintain.
FYI, be prepared for unexpected issues. As much as I love my 02, I've had to fix a few things since the get go.
The worst was the hydraulic roof lines. After I ordered from a seller from ebay, great guy very helpful!! I had them installed and found many previous repairs to them except the obvious complete replacement with new upgraded hoses. Ugh!!
Rear shocks went out within a month and brakes and rotors finally reared their ugly head!!
But I've been lucky so far with tensioners. I did the research on my engine build date and seems I have the final replacement set. Late 2002 engine.
Now to tart her up with my arden kit!!
