Default Possible bad instrument Cluster

I have a 2001 Jaguar XKR that I unfortunately let the battery run down for a long period of time. I replaced the battery with a new one and started her up and was greeted with all kinds of error codes, the RPM gauge not working, and the car stuck in park. I tried several hard resets to no avail. After checking around on the Jaguar boards it seems like I might have a blown instrument cluster. They recommended finding a used one on Ebay, but I would rather fix the original if possible. Does anyone know of someplace I could send my instrument cluster to be tested and if necessary repaired? Any help would be appreciated.

The instrument cluster is generally robust, just replacing it will make everything not work, needs to be programmed to the rest of the system, then a bunch of paperwork with DMV because your ODO is wrong....

Before you seek a repair, what are the persistent codes, and are you sure the new battery is fully charged?

Edit: Note, since you have a MY 2001, the MY 2000 solder migration problem is most likely fixed if that was the concern.

Default Instrument cluster

Here is a list of the error codes: Transmission Fault, Transmission High Temp, Fail Safe Engine Mode, Incorrect Part Fitted, Park Brake On, Low Brake Fluid, ASC Not Available. Also, it appears that none of the gauges are working. All of the warning lights are on, the engine light, the brake light, and the rest. There was no problems until I left the key on and the battery got completely discharged. I tried a hard reset and replaced the battery with a new one that was fully charged and is on a trickle charger. Also, when every I turn the ignition off the mileage flashes briefly and its always a different number. It's a low mileage car, under 30,000, so when it shows 86,000 or 120,000 miles it's kind of disheartening. Something appears to be shorting out the instrument cluster. I'm stumped.

Do you have the OBD II codes (i.e.of the form PXXXX, UXXXX, etc) using a code reader? How long did the car sit?

Here's a thread that sounds similar and might give some insights -

I'm still trying to get things sorted out. Taking out the instrument cluster and sending it off to be repaired would be a last resort, something I really don't want to do. I'm still trying whatever else I can come up with to clear the problems. I have searched around on the internet and I continue to hope I can find something to fix the problems. The car runs great, I just have to ignore the instrument cluster lighting up like a Christmas tree and none or the gauges working. Oh well, I'm in no hurry. Thanks for all your help.

Did you go through the TSB and inspect the circuit board for that known solder joint? The IC is not hard to remove by yourself, maybe 20 min if you take your time.

I would take that VIN range with a grain of salt...

Last time I was in my instrumentation panel was a while back, but in my 2001 (A18534), the case was modded and I believe that the joint no longer existed at the problematic location. On the other hand, the wiring harness connectors appeared to have been partially farmed out to a middle school electronics shop. I did rework them for what that was worth which might be worth something in this case since it's relatively easy.
