Default Power Steering leak?

Hey all, I just got in from checking my power steering fluid tank because when the car is standing still and the wheel is turned it makes a squeaking sound like an un-lubed door hinge is the best way I can describe it. When I checked the tank it was only about half full but I'm not sure if the tank is supposed to be filled up all the way? What really concerned me though is the exterior of the tank is completely covered in a layer of grime all over as if it's leaking. Upon further examination, there is a hose just below the tank that is also completely covered in grime as if the steering resovior has been leaking over time. What do you think?

Default Sounds like a leak to me

I had the same issue. Kept a bottle of power steering fluid in the trunk until I could take it in for repair. The fluid has to be full or it will squeak horribly.
