Best top speed for me was on my Kawasaki Zx12r, slightly tweaked she topped out @197 on the gps, showing 203 on the speedometer!
So far in the XKR 162 indicated, strangely felt no sign of the limiter, just ran out of road, although I have to believe there couldnt have been much left.

I guess I'll have to take her out of New Jersey to see what she'll do. I say a few Hail Mary's just going 20mph over the limit. Our roads are so torn up there is no place without pot holes or speed bump repairs of pot holes. Jack

Hey Kevin, Thanks for the mopar stories particularly the one about your 340 Duster.

When I was thinking about the cars that I had "pushed over the century mark," I completely forgot about one of the most important cars in my formative years. I too, had a 340 Duster (see Pic) It was a high compression 340 with a purple stripe cam, 4-speed and 3.91 gears.

I still have a copy of the speeding ticket for 121mph in a 55mph zone that I received at about 1:00am on a two lane state highway! I can't believe I didn't go straight to jail for that one. (I was only 20 years old) Yeah, It cost me a bunch of $$$... I actually got two tickets for that stunt - the other one was for "careless and heedless driving!" I had to sell my 1965 Corvair Corsa to cover the lawyer and fines that resulted.

Damn, I've done some dumb things. But still... I live. Some one MUST have a plan for me.

The other pic is of my '62 at the H.A.M.B. Drags about 3 years ago.

Just a quick touch to about 90 in the XKR. Would love to open it up and see how it runs. Just no room to do that here. Don't like scoffing at the laws or being dangerous. The cat does love to leap.

In high school - 136 (about) in a '66(?) Impala SS 396, with 5 other guys (I was a passenger).

Somewhere way north of speedo capability in a 1981 Chevy Silverado 1 ton, 454, 4.56 in eastern Montana.

Riding with my brother in a 1976 Cadillac Coupe deville, 500 cid, 27 miles in 10 minutes.

111 in 1983 VW GTI - all it had.

That was in the Jag with the top down. I won't be doing that again.

Hey Sam, how did you keep the cover on over the top?

With the wind deflector installed the tonneau cover doesn't move at all unless I'm driving on a two lane road, the wind is blowing from the right direction, and an 18 wheeler goes by in the other direction.
