question on CTEK charger

question on CTEK charger

I brought the Ctec charger thanks to forum members. one question can I close the trunk -boot with the charger plugged in or do I have to leave it open a little thanks jrb53

Either way will work. I leave my Trunk (Boot) lid open a little to prevent the cord from crimping the Rubber Seal. If you don't have a mouse problem you can leave the lid open a little. The Light will extinguish after a short time.

I've used a rolled up towel (hand) between trunk lid and rubber, just a bit of cushion to keep pressure off seals and cords.

When the car is stored, I leave the battery floor cover off so the battery is exposed (just in case there is any gas build up?) and the trunk lid closed down onto the LV cables but NOT latched / locked (enough to satisfy the alarm that everything is secure). Done this last 6yrs with both my Jags and had no problems. TS
