question on front lower wishbone bushings
I plan on replacing the remaining suspension bushings on the car and already have the needed powerflex poly bushings But in reading the remove/replace for the front lower wishbones, it has you remove the steering rack. If I simply disconnect the tie rod ends - since I found those in need of replacement this weekend - will that give me enough clearance to remove the rear bolt for the lower wishbone

You should not have to completely remove the rack.
Just remove the 4 bolts that hold the brackets around the rubber rack mounts so you can move the rack a bit to get the control arm bolts out.
This article covers it.

* If you haven't done the wheel bearings or ball joints now would be the time since to consider it since you are disconnecting so much already.

I should have mentioned that the rubber rack mounts were not expensive. I would replace them (if they are original) since you will have them loose anyway. New rubber will better insulate vibrations.
The bolt can be removed without moving the steering rack. With the rubber gaiters unclipped and slid back towards the wheel end of the rod, and with the steering on full lock, there's just enough room to manoeuvre the bolt out. This can be the better way if there's corrosion on the rack mounting bolts and any concern about shearing them off.
