I just realized that the cruise control button does not light up like the Sport mode does in my car. I have no recollection as to whether it ever did. Would you mind telling me, are they supposed to?

Yes, does light up. You may need to replace the switch if tell tale is your need.

 

Do you mean the switch on the steering wheel illuminates when lights are on? Does this also mean the radio controls on steering wheel light up too?

Is something supposed to come on the dash to indicate cruise is engaged?

Davebc, the OP is talking about a 98, they have a seperate switch beside the sport button that turns the CC on and off. Our 03's do not have that, just the steering wheel controls that do not light up like the instrument lights. The CC in our cars is always on, you just engage or disengage it.

 

I recently have replace my Mode switch on a 02, I had the old one saved and popped it open, there is a led if you are handy that could be replaced if it's just the light, mine would not stay engaged, I suspect the light is similar on the cruise. That switch base has 4 snap slots, you can easily pry the top off.

 

Jam, Thank you for the offer. As I was driving home from work last night I realized that the way I phrased the question would probably be taken as "does the red LED light?" I appologize, my LED is fine. I should have asked about the lighting that goes on with the headlights / Dimmer. The S on the sport button is lit at night, I was wondering if the icon on the Cruise control has white backlighting too.
