I've been searching through threads looking for some guidance regarding replacing the lights in the radio in my 2001 XK8. It's the Alpine version of the sound system I believe.
I replaced all the other lights in the console and dash with LEDs so they're nice and bright. I've read some of the other posts and they talk about wanting to replace the radio lights and it being difficult but I haven't found any that have done it, or any posts with photos of the process. My understanding it that the bulbs are soldered to the circuit board, which I don't have a problem dealing with. I'm just wondering how difficult it is to get to that board and how many and what type of lights they are. If anyone out there has done this and posted the process I'd appreciate a link. I'd rather know what I'm getting into before I open the radio up instead of ending up with a can of worms so to speak.
I've looked at Gus's wiring diagram here, http://jagrepair.com/images/AutoRepa.../jagxk2001.pdf, but it doesn't really show me how the lights are attached. Looks like I'm going to have to take the console apart, again, and open the radio up and see what there is to see.
