Default Raising the Passenger Seat?

My wife has started griping about the passenger seat. Apparently it's too low. Has anyone tried to raise it? On my BMW Z3 I raised the front of the driver's seat by using longer bolts and adding some washers. Has anyone done something similar on the XK? What's involved in removing the seat?

Will she have sufficient head room if you do raise it? Maybe it's because my family and friends are mostly tall people (and I am 6'8") but their heads are already close to the roof with the stock height.

Same as you Keith. Too tall to consider raising seats, but how about sitting her up on the old trusty phone book, LOL.

You must have a tiny wife... I can't get my seat low enough, and I'm only 6'...you tall guys must feel pretty 'comfy'.

I'm 6'4" and the driver's seat fits me fine if I lower it all the way and lean way back. My wife is only 5'2", and since the passenger seat isn't adjustable height-wise, she complains that she can't see well. She's tried sitting on a pillow, but then the heated seat isn't going to work for her.

I have the opposite request. I am not tall (maybe 5'8") but I always feel that my view out the windshield ends up being about an inch or so higher than I would prefer. I believe I saw a seat lowering kit from someone (Arden?) but it was pretty pricey.

That's strange! My passenger seat will raise and lower with the power switch. Maybe yours is just not functioning properly.

I believe that function was an option. My 20002 has every option but that, the ability to raise the passenger seat.

Yeah, on mine the switch doesn't even move. It does the back and forth thing, but not the up and down thing.

As RJAG says, fully adjustable passenger seat was an option, standard was a simple 2-way control on the seat.

Just bought a new XF PL but due to an unexpected illness have not been able to drive it yet Grrr. However, my wife feels the same way that the passenger seat is too low.

The both the drivers and passenger seat has height adjustment and while the drivers side is great, the passenger seat on maximum height is some 2 inches lower than the drivers. Realise this thread is some years old, but wondered if any of the existing posters or new members have come to a solution.

Personally, I cannot believe its beyond the wit of man to 'add something' to the seat chassis to do this.

Any ideas guys.
