It isn't too difficult but you will be way under the car and there isn't much elbow room if it isn't on a lift.

The bolts are out in the weather so some WD40 or other loosening agent is good to have. Also a god size adjustable wrench to slip over the flat part of the link and keep it from twisting the rubber while you tighten the nuts.

If you haven't got them already it is a good time to replace the end link bushes, or rubbers as they are sometimes called. The link doesn't usually come with them but there are two for each side.

As advised the bar, links and bolts are easy to get at. This is really a snap to do if you are on a lift. For sure, apply WD40 or a good penetrating oil a day or two in advance and it will make bolt/nut removal much easier. When I replaced these items on my 2005 XKR Coupe I went with PowerFlex poly bushings and have been quite pleased with the results. While you are doing this work you may want to check on the condition of the lower strut bushings and the sub frame/beam bushings for signs of deterioration. In addition, if the grease fittings for the differential/drive axels have not been recently serviced you may also want to apply grease accordingly.

I did these last sunday, on my drive. When putting it back togeather you just need to jack up the suspension a bit to get the bottom nut on.

It almost looks as if the new one is both rubber washers made in a single mold. Could it be a manufacturing defect and they forgot to cut them apart?

Is there any instruction about cutting them apart before installing?

Dear all

Just for information these bottom bushes (that had to be cut apart) disintegrated on my car. In fact one went AWOL in less than 6 months.

I have now replaced then with jaguar ones. Which are far stiffer and more substantial.

regards
