Default Rear Damper Lower Bush replacement

Had an annoying rattle on left rear for some time.
Yesterday replaced lower damper bush - swine of a job, took six hours.
Real pain getting spring out had to force hub down with a bar in order to get spring and damper assembly out.

Is this normal - I guessing there's an easier way, should have asked before doing job I know - just curious now!

Tony.

In post #6 member motorcarman describes an easier way. Never done it myself, but if anyone knows the best way to do something on these cars it would be him.

You don't need to remove the damper to change the bottom bush - undo the bottom bolt and it will drop down far enough to enable changing the bush. You'll need a couple of suitably sized sockets and a length of HT threaded rod to press the old one out and the new one in.
