Do you happen to know what the fix entails or addresses specifically?

From reading it looks like its a bunch of insulation similar to dynamat and insulation tape. The insulation gets applied to the door and miscellaneous panels while the the tape gets wrapped around wiring harnesses. I think you're ok because this applies to only 2014-2015 F Types VIN ranging from K00001-K27000

Thanks... but dammit! This doesn't solve the problem with my 2016's "blown speaker" sound on certain bass notes then.

Others will chime in, but the subwoofers in the F Type are free standing, meaning that they aren't enclosed so the sounds won't be as a tight vs subwoofers are enclosed.

Sealed or ported: the differences in subs and enclosures

Indeed, deeper bass is served decently well by this Meridian system, it's the tight, punchy bass that is awful--and when I mean awful, I don't mean that the sub would've been better served in a sealed enclosure for better response and accuracy, but that it literally sounds like someone tried to send 120 Hz bass to a tweeter giving a flubby, muffled beat.

Still, my choice of music affects this. For now, I've found different settings for reducing the issue with my most recent choice to be +50% bass, treble at middle, and -50% sub using DTS with 1 tick faded forward. Seems to be the best compromise for most songs, though not perfect.

Anyway, didn't mean to threadjack. I'm really glad everyone with the rattle issue will get that resolved with new sound insulation! Nice.

Sorry, quick thread hijack. I'm UK-based but I'll let you know if I ever get this issue sorted on my MY16 (V6S AT). So far, door speakers have been identified as the culprits so I'm waiting for new ones under warranty (been waiting 3 weeks so far).

I don't believe they are blown, I reckon Dynamat will help, but I'm giving the dealer a chance to resolve it themselves first before I start getting pushy...

Back on topic...strange that this bulletin only applies to earlier cars, I wasn't aware they'd changed the wiring or speaker positioning at all from the MY2016.

While this maybe true, JLR may have updated how the wiring is installed and may have installed additional insulation in the build process of 2016+ models.

plenty of people think the 2016 coupe stereo is *****, so I'd say that's unlikely

I'm going to live with whatever issues the standard stereo might suffer from rather then have them tear into my car for a "maybe"...passing.

Here's where I get my TSB info:

2014 Jaguar F-Type (X152) Recalls and 2014 Jaguar F-Type (X152) Repair Information

For all cars/years:

http://alldatadiy.com/recalls/index.html

Also:

https://www.automd.com/recall-tsb/se...E&y=2014&s=tsb

I don't see this one yet, but they not have it yet.
I'll post the link into the "How To" thread for future reference.

Thanks, Cambo. It does look like my VIN for my 2016 S is covered under the TSB. Guess I'll need to schedule something soon for that.

Your post came just in time since I was about to pull the trigger on a sub for the trunk! This will at least let me see if I can cure the "blown speaker" effect for now.

That applies to non North American cars. Your version of the TSB is dated September of 2015. The North American TSB is dated October of 2015 and has a different VIN range. Although when I skimmed through your version, the part numbers and procedures SEEM to be the same.

I mentioned that the TSB that Cambo posted is for non North American cars and that the TSB for North American cars has a different VIN range. North American VIN ranges are K00001-K27000.

My VIN is in the K25000+ range, so it should be covered under this TSB either way, correct?

This is what Jaguar has previously told me:

"I can confirm however that the JTB00432 relates to vehicles in the following VIN range: K00001-K27583"

edit: ah, but the pdf clearly states that, so ignore me, carry on, as you were!

So it appears that mine at 27733 was one of the first off the line that was done right (maybe).
