Rear End Noise?
Thanks for the info about the play. I am aware that some play is normal. My question is: Is that play adjustable? I didn't think so. Not like on some front hubs where you adjust with the bearing nut.
The paly on my right rear is so much that it makes a constant thumping sound. At first I though it was the upper shock mount. I took the sping and shock out, all lookked fine. Replaced mounts. Noise still there.
Besides spending $ 1,000 at the shop, any ideas? The service info shows that replacing the wheel bearing in the rear is a bit of an ordeal.

my 'thumping' noise turned out to be a lower shock bushing, and that repair was after the indy shop replaced both rear wheel bearings because they thought that was the culprit...ouch!, that bill hurt.
I had my 97 Jag XK8 in for an oil change and asked the mechanic where he thought my rear noise was coming from.
I found it coming from the rear bumper.
Seems after I had the car painted, the bumper snaps were off
on parts of the rear bumper.
I called the body shop and they said easy fix.

This is the noise that comes from the rear left side of my 2003 XKR. Anyone any ideas as to what is causing it?
The exhaust is as solid as a rock. The brake cable is the same.
So any ideas chaps?
