Rear Qtr Window Micro-Switch Location
The PO resolved the green shower issue by totally disconnecting the hydraulic system and unlocking the top lift arms so that the top can be raised and lowered manually - which it does very easily I might add. The top literally "falls" down when unlatched and pulled up a bit and raising it is also a no issue. The rear Qtr windows can be lowered by simply pressing the "down" button for the top function but they can only be raised again by shorting out the "UP" relay in the trunk/boot compartment. This is a real PITA and thought if I can short out the micro switches that indicate the top position, I would be able to raise the rear windows using the same factory top button. Any thoughts on this approach or a different fix that other member s have tried successfully? Thanks!

If I remember correctly the top up micro-switch is located at the base of the lift cylinder (passenger side I think). Once the switch closes the windows are allowed to close. The manual operation directions for the roof operations says to apply upward hand pressure to the ram to engage the switch. Without the pressure the rams are not fully extended in manual operation and windows won't rise.

Thanks Vern. In my case, the top rams will never be in the up/locked position cause the top is totally being manually operated so both top rams were pushed down to the unlock position permanently. My thinking is if I short the top "up" micro switches the puter will think the top is fully up and allow me to use the top UP switch to raise the rear windows. Just need to uncover those micro switches.

When the roof is closed the rams are extended. When you open they retract. They are pinned to the roof mechanism. You just need to push up by hand on the bottom of the ram to complete the extension and engage the switch. The steps are in the drivers handbook and in the write up I referenced.
if you have unpinned them, the best way would be to hook them back up and open the petcock on the pump and follow the handbook instructions.

If I read your problem clearly, the hydraulic lift rams are flopping around, which makes the top easy to move but this doesn’t allow travel on the ram to engage the two separate switches.
Problem with shorting out the microswitches is that the BPM needs to see a difference between the switches to know if the top is up or down.
+1 to avern1 in refixing the rams as that would be my first fix.... but there might be a another way. See Rev Sam’s Youtube video. Link below
