Default Repairing windshield gasket

Hi all,

I have a small tear in the rubber windshield gasket (see the pic). Any thoughts on repairing it? I bought some black silicone sealant from the hardware store - should be ok to use? It doesn't rain so much over here in Abu Dhabi (but when it does it's torrential). The more immediate concern is she really needs a bath

The glass is bonded to the body. All the rubber moulding does is provide fastening for the grey metal finisher trim so you shouldn't need to worry about leaks. That is unless the reason it's split or cut is the PO has attempted to fix a leak.

Ok, good to know! I think I'll just tack or tape down the ends of the rubber moulding so it doesn't pull out any further. Thanks for the info!

Hmm... I need to replace mine as most of it is gone. Amy ideas where to buy? Searched a few UK Jag parts places but can't seem to locate the rubber seal part.

Cheers
