Replacing Rear Seat
Since the rear seat on the Xk8/R is just short of totally useless, I am looking at replacing it with carpet covered fiberboard?? I know that many have done this and want to see what other have done.I know this was sent out before, but would like to see what others have done??
I thought of doing the same thing a while back. Here are some of the threads I saved:

Great Solutions! I checked with the seat delete company(Schrade) to see if they have a pre fabbed solution for XK's. If not, time to pull out the old jigsaw.....
Thx. for the links.

I am interested in the same, really interested in the progress of this Sam, maybe just wood pieces cut to size and trimmed in carpet? I am looking to get the fiberglass tonneau cover and have it trimmed it in vinyl though, and it does go with the shape of the rear seats, so I may not. Wonder how it looks without.
I checked with a local upholsterer on material. All can be locally obtained. Looking to make a storage box, and add 2- 6 1/2" speakers to the back panel. More when it happens.
I managed to pull the rear seat and back from my XK. Getting ready to start the renovation. Now I have a very good seat and back and no storage for it. If anyone is interested, I will sell the two very reasonably. I doubt I will ever go back to this seat. THe colour is Ivory. No tears or wears. All the screws and seatbelts with retractors.
