Default Replacing Rear Seat

Since the rear seat on the Xk8/R is just short of totally useless, I am looking at replacing it with carpet covered fiberboard?? I know that many have done this and want to see what other have done.I know this was sent out before, but would like to see what others have done??

Great Solutions! I checked with the seat delete company(Schrade) to see if they have a pre fabbed solution for XK's. If not, time to pull out the old jigsaw.....
Thx. for the links.

I am interested in the same, really interested in the progress of this Sam, maybe just wood pieces cut to size and trimmed in carpet? I am looking to get the fiberglass tonneau cover and have it trimmed it in vinyl though, and it does go with the shape of the rear seats, so I may not. Wonder how it looks without.

I checked with a local upholsterer on material. All can be locally obtained. Looking to make a storage box, and add 2- 6 1/2" speakers to the back panel. More when it happens.

I managed to pull the rear seat and back from my XK. Getting ready to start the renovation. Now I have a very good seat and back and no storage for it. If anyone is interested, I will sell the two very reasonably. I doubt I will ever go back to this seat. THe colour is Ivory. No tears or wears. All the screws and seatbelts with retractors.

Sam, if you don't sell the seats, it's worth taking the leather off and saving. This way, should you need to repair one of the front seats, you will have matching leather available.

Hey Sam, if you wanna send me pictures I may buy them if they're better than mine.

I’ve been thinking of deleting the rear seat, also. Can you post pictures of what you do to the empty well? Thanks
