the first step, let someone with OBDII scanner retrieve the fault codes that are stored in your car's memory. If you do not know anyone, go to Autozone and they do it for free. Place those codes here and you will get some answers.

Here's something very easy to check---make sure your fuse on the intercooler pump is good. You'll find this 15A fuse located in engine compartment (passenger side-next to bulkhead). It will be listed as fuse# 12. See pg. 6-19 in your owners manual for location diagram.

Restricted performance is usually related to problems with one or more coil packs. It can be caused by water getting into the plug wells, if the coil cover plate bolts have been overtightened and stripped.

Any of a multitude of issues can cause the restricted performance message...so reading of codes is essential to save the time and expense of guessing at problems.

No codes were ever generated on my car when it went into RP---discovered a bad I/C pump which blew the 15A fuse. This conditione only happened when S/C was under load (climbing steep hills at 60-70 mph for over 15 min.) The RP would go away after I/C's cooled down. I was surprised that no codes were generated by this condition.

I recently had the same problem with my 1999 xk8. It was a knock sensor causing it and the way I found it was to plug in a OBD reader and drive the car and drove it. When Restricted Performance came up I checked the reader and it came up as Knock Sensor. I am not saying that is the problem just suggesting a way to identify the problem on your car.

I do not have the codes for a 2006 xkr but the p1111 is generic and it means that the onboard test is complete. You need not be concerned with it.

You may have Jaguar enhanced codes that a generic reader is not picking up. If you do not want to invest $500 in a AutoEnginuity scanner, a trip to the dealer or independent Jaguar shop might be necessary, at least for diagnostics. P1111 is as Gus said, and not a problem.

Ok, I understand p1111 means everything is ok.. But. Whenever the car revs above 3k rpm, it bogs down and makes me feel like something broke. Both on and off sport mode. I can't run it hard at all.

Nevermind...disregard previous post, the bogging is occurring while driving.
