Unhappy "Restricted performance" how far can I drive the car? - FIXED

I have now replaced the radiator in my xk8, refilled the anti-freeze, started the car and now get "Restricted performance".

I am sure this is because the transmission fluid needs topping up.

Can I still drive the car with "restricted performance" to my jaguar mechanic who is about 10 miles away to top up the transmission fluid?

Please advise.

Many thanks,
David

how do you know that this is why you are getting restricted performance? you say you just changed your radiator. did that go all of the way well? Do you feel that just a little fluid came out of the transmission. why did you change the radiator anyway?

My radiator was leaking so I changed it. While taking the radiator out I had to undo the 2 transmission cooler pipes which connect to the radiator and therefore lost some of the transmission fluid, not sure how much, maybe a pint or 2? Would this cause "restricted performance" plus the red and yellow warning lights.

Connected new radiator, filled up with antifreeze and stated the car.

It runs but comes up with message restricted performance, I assume because it is now low on transmission fuel?

I don't think low transmission fluid will cause restricted performance. How far away is an auto parts store? Drive it there and get the codes read. Also, as pointed out to me the other day, you need to let the engine warm up so that the thermostat opens. The coolant can't circulate until the thermostat opens, and you might be low on coolant.

Reverend I think I agree with you. Just read the codes:
PO112 IAT sensor 1 circuit low input
PO102 MAF or VAF A circuit low input
P1111 Manufacturer Control Fuel air metering

Now while doing the radiator I also changed the water pump, thermostat tower, thermostat, cross over pipe, and installed a new air filter.
Could I have installed the air filter upside down, hence "low input"???

I also had to take off the large plastic pipe that goes from the air filter box to the top of the MAF?

Many thanks for your help,
David

Additional info, the water level is the same as when filled, no leaks. Drove the car about 2 miles to warm up assume since temp gauge was in the middle, correct temp.

The P1111 is normal, you'll always have either P1111 or P1000, so nothing to worry about there.

P0102 possible causes are a blocked air filter or a problem with the MAF sensor or the wiring going to the MAF sensor. Are you sure you plugged the connector back in properly? It's on the black plastic tube that goes from the air filter to the throttle body.

P0112 indicate possible wiring problems going to the intake air temperature sensor, which I believe is integral with the MAF sensor. I think you either didn't get the connector seated properly, or maybe you pulled a wire out while removing or reinstalling it.

Reverend, YOU ARE RIGHT AGAIN !!!!!

Just went back out to the car to check that long black pipe that goes into the air filter and there it was, I had forgotten to connect the connector back in.....how stupid, was in such a rush to finish I suppose.
Anyway all is well, no codes, no amber lights etc....thank you so much!!! Yeaaaahhhhh
