Retro fitting the cabin pollen filter.
[quote=tommyzr;487673]I think after looking at the pictures & reading the proceedures that takes 4+ hours to do, I will have the dealer's shop do this job. Paying $150. - $200 isn't bad & they know how to do it .... I hope!
Maybe...The dealer here ordered the filter, charged me for it, then discovered there was no holder for it. Said it had apparently been removed and no parts houses they contacted had one. Oops.

Jaguar Corporate customer service says that our 2006 XK8 has a cabin filter. Brutal says that it does not and that cabin filters were not installed on the XK series until the 2007 model year. I'm not going to pull the cowl just to look for it. I'll take Brutal's word over Jaguar Corporate....
no need to remove the wide plate. and when you unscrew the wiper assembly, just rotate it as you remove it and lay it on the engine area.
the left hand box is still available.
I replaced the sealing pieces on the watershield.
did this in under 2 hours.

I can live without it
Been quite a while since I installed the pollen filter assembly, but I still haven't been able to re-program the cabin fan to up the fan speed.
Do you happen to have a basic procedure, using the WDS / IDS, on which module controls the fan speed and how the re-programming is carried out.
Many thanks in advance.
