Hi, while replacing the sway bar bushings yesterday we discovered that the rubber mount that stabilizes the air filter box was thorn apart.

I checked online and found a price of £ 42,- for part number EAC8130.

Luckily I know my inventory and had the exact same part for less than £ 3,-.

 

Great price, I'd damaged mine when I pulled the air box to replace the SC water pump.. I've been wanting to replace it but at $45 for a rubber mount I can't get myself to pull the trigger.. guess I just need to keep looking..

 

I need one of those too, where did you get it for £3

New Jaguar Vanden Plas XJ6 III L Sovereign Drier Mount | eBay

Works perfect, same size and threads. Just unscrew the old broken parts and screw this one on. The part attached to the fender has a captive nut under the fender so no need to remove the fender liner.

 

I couldn't believe that for a tiny metalastik so I checked a few Jaguar parts suppliers. Sure enough, £42 ($72) is the UK cost for OE including tax.

Looks like the same part needed to mount the heater pump bracket as well as the engine oil cooler rediator, both have silly prices from Jag.

 

Earlier this year I had the same problem, but could not find the part.
I used gorilla glue and it worked great.

The ones on ebay in the U.S are around $30 shipping to the UK, surely this cannot be correct. I have not sent anything overseas for a few years but those transport charges are way over the top.

 

I replaced one several years ago on a 99XK8, failure was caused by a failing motor mount allowing the engine to rotate.

 

Just replaced mine with these units off of Amazon Canada. ~ $13 CAD for 4. They fit perfectly although the base is not hex.

Should work for the oil cooler isolators, too.
