Satellite Radio Install 2002 XK8
I am considering de-coupling the CD player and installing an adaptor that uses a Kenwood (discontinued model KTC SR903) satellite radiowhich theoretically will be controlled through radio. It is sold through Logjam Radio and is a PIE JAG/PC-KNNSR for about $80. Any experience with this rig? I dont mind losing the CD player to get Sat radio. Seems like a very reasonable solution.
Thanks in advance.

Part description says only for a 2000-2002 s-type, which is why. The XKs have a different bus protocol than the s-types. I'm afraid that won't work my friend. sorry.
You interested in talk radio or the satellite radio stations? If talk only, FM modulated would be the way to go. If all of the satellite stations, best bet is to get an aftermarket tuner and run it into your stock amplifier inputs. You can get alot of information from your local audio installer and what will work best with your XK.

Good luck then Drisch, I hope that would work. Maybe you can find an installer that would try the install if you bought the PIE converter, and they had the satellite parts...to see if it would feasibly work together. I only know that the jag radios in our cars have a certain language that allows them to only talk (and work with) other jagbranded cd-changers. That is why we cant simply replace the changers in the back for a similar bussed alpine unit. The cables work, but the communication protocols don't. I hear it was intentionally coded that way.

Sorry for the bad news Drisch. You can add the aftermarket GPS system which has an interface built-in it for a XM tuner... it looks pretty neat and if you ever want to go that route, i can assist in what you would need.
CORRECTION, I checked on it, the tuner is built into the GARMIN GVN 53, you just need the add-on XM antenna.
