Default Seat control module programming/replacement?

The driver'seat programmer module under my 2006 is crushed beyond repair. I have found a replacement from a 2000 and am planning to pull the seat to use the unit for replacement. Will programming be required and if so to what extent? I understand that the 2000 did not have heated seats, so that is not a problem here in S.W. Fla., I just do not want to go to the problem of pulling the seat only to find that the module will not work.
The current housing box under my seat is fully crushed. All the seat controls still seem to work, however, I continue to get a driver's 'airbag warning' and a "no cruise control available" warning. This after I have changed the brake switch twice. This problem seems connected to something under the seat, as every time I have tried to reconnect the box, the lights have remained off for a longer period of time than before I tinkered with the box. Curiouser, and curouser.....

You can try replacing but the 4.0 cars are different from the 4.2 cars.

Here is an excerpt from a TECH TIP we got in March 2004.

Models – XK8/XKR 2001/2002 MY
Symptom: PECUS D or PECUS P warning after replacing seat modules
Information: After replacing one or both seat modules, a technician will see a PECUS message on the dash. When looking on the WDS, there will be no programming option for the seat modules. To repair a tech must locate a 2003-04 XK, install the seat module in that vehicle, and then program with WDS. The only side that can be programmed is the driver's side; therefore a passenger seat module must be placed in the driver's position and programmed. After programming install modules in original car, PECUS message should be gone.

Obviously this is out of my limited capabilities. I think that what this says in southern English is that the 2000 module that I have will not work on my 2006 seat and cannot be programmed by someone with my limited abilities??? What is the PECUS? (I thought this was somewhere in Texas?) Same question for WDS?
You gotta remember you are dealing with a product of the Southern Rural Education System here.
Thx for the help. I am just trying to get this crushed box replaced/repaired. If it will not work for me, can anybody use a 2000 seat module??

WDS=Worldwide Diagnostic System

The Worldwide Diagnostic System is a computer-based program that was developed by GENRAD Diagnostics Systems and Ford Motor Company in the early 1990s for use as a service tool in nearly all of the Ford trustmark automobile dealerships worldwide. ... The WDS diagnoses and reprograms vehicles manufactured from 1996.

Ford, Jaguar, Mazda, Aston Martin all used WDS in some sort or fashion.

PECUS=(Programming Electronic Control Unit)
