Default Seat Module Needed

How expensive are they?

This is the brain under the seat that has the power controls to operate the seat adjustments and
heat.

Try Car-Parts.com.

I got a used one for about $80 shipped and need another for this car.

The Ford equivalent is about $45 new at the parts counter but no one has been able to cross reference them.

The first level of response is that the part numbers must match but over the past 3 years I have come to think that the may be pretty much interchangeable.

Be aware that a problem can sometimes happen to the modules not communicating with others. Here is a tech tip for the fault.

"Models – XK8/XKR 2001/2002 MY
Symptom: PECUS D or PECUS P warning after replacing seat modules
Information: After replacing one or both seat modules, a technician will see a PECUS message on the dash. When looking on the WDS, there will be no programming option for the seat modules. To repair a tech must locate a 2003-04 XK, install the seat module in that vehicle, and then program with WDS. The only side that can be programmed is the driver's side; therefore a passenger seat module must be placed in the driver's position and programmed. After programming install modules in original car, PECUS message should be gone."

WOW! that is one convoluted technical advisory. Does that mean that a passenger side module can be replaced without programing? What happens when a used one is installed on the passenger side? I found an used one with the correct part number and it plugged in and worked fine. No PECUS D or P warnings on the dash. What about part number matches?

Motorcarman - Thank you for that. I'll be praying that my tech won't run into any problems! Geesh!

I am not saying it will happen but it did happen to me ONCE. I called Jaguar Tech line and was advised to install the module in the drivers seat and programme it to the car. I did and then moved it to the passenger side and everything worked!!!! Some modules are not recognized on the passenger side???? Modules and Networks have their own protocol.
