35k per year just for work between cities. So, I drink a lot of coffee, and I drive the 01' as often as I can on these 300-mile days...only real time I get to listen to my cassette collection!!!
Insulated coffee cups are typically too tall or fat, Lavazza or most gas station cups, nah. While I've never had the chance to enjoy watching my coffee launch out of the holder onto my newly dyed seats or freshly laundered pants and shirts I see the wobble and drive one handed.
The winner and vetted, (or Jag-ed), over numerous trips?? McDonalds Medium cups. Honestly, they fit great, seem to anchor the ejection springs down and stay firmly planted in spirited driving.
You are all welcome.

I like this a lot but it can't fit in my console, the tray is much too shallow. My 2004 XKR came with the phone option and the connector for it is immediately below the tray, which I assume is the reason for the irritating shallowness. I'm going to have a look under there and see if the connector can be removed/relocated to allow for a deeper tray (I see some on ebay). I'd also have to relocate the switch I put in the tray to raise the quarter windows. Until I figure something out, I'll just plan to commandeer a number of McDonalds medium cups to keep in the trunk

You could cut the depth down to allow it to fit. There's no reason for the cupholders to actually have a base to them. To be honest, you could cut the actual cup parts off completely and have the top as the holder - if you know what I mean.

What's the little controller you have plugged into your cigar lighter? Bluetooth receiver or something - it looks neat..
To help hold drink cups in the flip out cup holder, I use a coozie...the foam lined drink can insulators, available everywhere. It fattens the cup base enough and will acccept/conform to many forms of drink cups bases and the otherwise useless Jaguar cup circlets.
