With an X100 Jaguar I've still got no idea how that device actually plays any music through the car speakers. It can play it through your phone but you can do that anyway without the gadget.
Bearing in mind my comment above, that's not surprising, I guess. 🙁

The product made a lot of sense - the Car Thing sits on your dashboard and your phone stays in your pocket. It's very easy to connect it to a X100, with the mods well documented on this forum and given its dimensions, might well have been a good fit to replace the OEM sat nav. I think the real issue was getting people to buy for it and pay for the premium Spotify service, which it was obviously supposed to be promoting. Crazy that they are bricking it - lawsuit incoming!

There is no AUX input on an X100 and rigging one up with decent sound quality, which rules out FM transmitters or cassette adapters, is far from "very easy".
The gadget might have made sense to some owners with an AUX input but for X100 owners there other solutions which actually work, albeit none of them are "very easy".

Either way, we can agree to disagree. 👍

There are many posts in the forum on how to wire up an aux input. I don't really understand how people who can change the timing chains on the engine, or rebuild the gearbox think that soldering a couple of wires is difficult.

Certainly not a problem for me as you can see from the link below .... but I would not call any of this "very easy".

Why do you not like FM transmitters? The quality is more than adequate - particularly since most using that method will be transmitting MP3 compressed (lossy) audio files from phone or USB stick.

Myself included.
It probably depends upon how crowded the FM band is where you live. Here in the UK Midlands, it doesn't matter which carrier frequency you choose, you always get intermittent interference. When I listen to the radio rather than music, I listen to BBC Radio 4 and I can choose from 4 different frequencies just to listen to the one station.
