Default Squawk Update 6HP26 and Motorcraft XL16 Kit

UPDATE on Suawk. The Motorcraft XL-16 has 2 tubes of additive but we used only a portion of 1 tube. The 6HP26 and Ford 6R80 are both ZF designs, Ford trucks has had the Squawk in their transmissions up thru 2013. The reason for delay in update is my accident that included a Broken Right Femur and recovery complicated by my MS. In a Rehab facility from March to June and unable to drive or travel until August. Recovery slow but improving. Drove the XK8 recently 45 miles and the Squawk is now a very light Groan. The loud noise has has quieted and hope it disappears as additional miles will allow the transmission to adapt. The shifts are very smooth and better that they were prior to the fluid change. We will accumulate additional miles and report back in the future regarding the Squawk.

Maybe I missed an earlier report of your accident, but here's to a speedy recovery and hoping all is well with you. I can't answer you tech question but maybe more driving/break in? will help. A second drain and fill may help too. TM

My ‘04 had the “ sqawk” when I bought. We did 3 flush and refills and a reflash. Works smooth as butter now.

Any more experience with this additive? My occasional "squawk" on down shifting mostly persists after the recent fluid change.
