This is my first Jaguar and so far it has been a very nice cruiser. Decent power, nice ride and cornering. Heck even good mpg's provided I keep out of the accelerator.

However, with all that being said, I hear some creaks in the front end. They are especially noticeable as I back out of the garage in the morning. I just looked under the car and bushings look good. Well at least what I can see without getting the car raised off the ground.

I bought the car from the Jaguar dealership in Omaha. They gave the car a clean bill of health.

These squeaks, or groans remind of poly bushings after being installed. Is there a common problem that causes this?

Check the sway bar bushings. I had the same symptom, changed mine, and no more noise. Not expensive or complicated to change. Hope This Helps.

My squeaking cleared up after I replaced the upper front suspension bushings. check the torque on the "x" bar that is bolted on under the engine. I had one driving me crazy only over uneven roads and when backing out of driveway and those bolts were the culprit. You can check bt pulling down on the x brace, and it will make the noise if its it.

 

Cornhusker, what year and type of XK do you have? Should put it in your signature somewhere so we can make a reasonable half-assed guess.
Can you systematically apply some lithium grease to different suspension areas until you find the culprit? If you have a pre-2000 car, probably time for the old front end rebuild.

 

Front struts start squeaking when they are going bad..and get damn loud eventually to where the radio won't even drown out the squeak
