Thumbs up stall

having problems now and again,pulled ....po191 fuel rail pressure sensor a circuit range performance, answers on a postcard please and can i clear engine amber light with my actron scanner, thankyou

Here's the Jaguar DTC extract for P0191 with the list of possible causes in the right hand column:

Now you have the code and know it's Injection Pressure Sensor, no harm in clearing it to see if it was just out-of-range. If not and it returns, then it's filter, pump, harness or sensor.

thanks graham,so i start with cleaning and then try to clear it and then move on to the next one and hope its not the pump,do i have one pump or two ...thanks, dodger

One electric turbine type pump on the N/A. The S/C have two mechanical gear type pumps for much greater flow rate.

thankyou, i have gone through thr proceures,gone for the ride came back turned of engine restarte and no light, cleared codes,does that mean my cleaning cured it.thanks again....dodger

P0191 is set when the underlying fault is present on 2 consecutive 'TRIPS'. This is what 'TRIP' means:

If you've identified and fixed the cause, that's the end of it. If not, the CEL will come back on.

Small correction: For a 4.2L S/C there is only a single pump. It is a different type than the N/A, but just the one.

Earlier 4.0 cars with the return style fuel system have the dual pumps.

YES - I was thinking back to my 4.0 Litre instead of 4.2.

Haven't had the 'pleasure' of doing a 4.2 pump ......... yet!
