Default is steering wheel interchangeable?

Hello, does anyone know if a non-heated steering wheel is interchangeable with a heated steering wheel and make the heated steering wheel work?
Thanks for your replies.

The nearest to a heated steering wheel I've come across on an XK8/XKR was Warm Charcoal.

Was a heated wheel an option in the US or are you considering a transplant from another Jaguar model?

It's Moderator not Mind Reader.

Why would you want a heated steering wheel in Arizona?

Well, because it snowed here in phoenix yesterday and is 42 degrees at the moment!
Now you are just being rude! Why?
This is not the kind of stuff the Jaguar forum is known for!
You should be helping not hindering the members of the forum!

I do hope you haven't taken my natural inquisitiveness about Americana as being tantamount to rudeness. That was most definitely not my intention.

The temperature in Phoenix is about the same as it is here today. It dropped to 9 deg below freezing on Sunday and I needed both the heated front and rear screens but didn't bother with the heated steering wheel.

Much as I've enjoyed this informative exchange on comparative meteorology and the relative thermal resistance of the Anglo-Saxon and the Texan, other matters are pressing and I can tell from your last post you are anxious to progress the enquiry. Do you want me to move the thread to F-Type forum or are you going to re-post the original question there?

I guess a heated wheel is necessary when thin skin is involved.

Contrary to popular belief not all of Arizona is rocks and cactus and burning sun.

I submit as Exhibit A a picture from the security camera at our place in the northern part of the the state. It has been a bit chilly this week, even in Phoenix.

No offense taken.

The saguaro is such an icon of the southwest a lot of people are surprised to learn we have actual trees and stuff. The further away they are the more stereotypical is what they imagine.
