Default Stereo won't play through speakers 1999 xk8 conv

The volume (deck shows everything working properly) will not play through speakers. I have tried everything stated here on radio issues without removing anything. When I press am/fm and eject together then mix and eject it says divers off. A kid was playing in car just before this happened

Make sure your settings (Bass, treble, woofer, etc.) are OK. If these are turned down, it could be your problem.

+1 on the setings. If they are good see if your power antenna goes up when you turn on the radio. If it doesn't go up the fuse may be blown. The antenna and power amplifier share the same circuit on the MY99. The head unit still lights up but no sound. fuse is in the trunk.

Try a hard reset, may just do the trick.

Most US cars do not need the radio reset (maybe early models?), but the personal settings for bass, treble, etc. will need to be reset. And certainly the windows on convertibles. Hard to tell what you need without knowing model and year of your car.

Default Got stereo to play for 15 seconds then static

I pushed 5 buttons on the stereo and sound played for about 15 seconds with increasing static, then kicked on and off a couple times then stopped. I can get it to do it over and over. So I think I just have to invent a 5 finger pushing instrument and I will be set. Is there a website for that? Or maybe a better solution? Thanks

Anvil, if you check out the fix I posted, No Audio, Stereo, 1999 XK8, you have exactly the same problem that I had. the fix is easy, and does not cost anything.
