Default Strut Cap?

Anyone know where I can find a couple strut caps? I've seen others that have a black plastic dome type cap on them? see pic.

Thanks,
Dave

I wonder if we could get a group purchase going for these billet aluminum strut caps. They are sold by a guy at the xkec forum who is located in UK and I believe the price is about $250 for a single set. They look pretty slick but this is a bit more than I would like to lay out for frills. But if others are interested I can make an inquiry about group buy.

Nope Dave, thankfully mine have stayed with the car even after some shock mount replacements on top.

It does bug me when some things like these caps get 'forgotten' during maintenance. (and not speaking about us DIYers specifically)

BTW, check your caliper guide pin boots, there's supposed to be little caps on those too (2 per corner) and over the last 3 years, i've lost both on the rears, but thankfully, there's a Hillman product from Lowes/Home Depot found in the screws/nuts/plastic cover area that fit like a glove. LOL! When I painted my calipers a few weeks ago I got all done putting the tires back on the car and discovered all of my little black caps sitting on the floor of the garage. The front ones were easy to reinstall, I just had to turn the wheel. I'm waiting until I need to take the rear wheel off before putting the back ones on, though.

Siesmic Guy! (a.k.a. Doug) -

I am in for those billet caps, and if we can't get enough interest from the boards maybe Chris @ Mina gallery will be willing to become a distributor. I'd like to get my hands on that intake too.

FYI the shock caps did not come on the later 2005-2006 cars (i think they ran out of them in the parts bin)

Hey All,

I have been emailing the guy who makes these and he replied that he would be interested in a group purchase. For 10 or more pairs he could discount 7.5% and for 20 or more pairs he would go 10%. This would be off the price of 150 pounds which is about $220 at current rates. Shipping costs would need to be added which could be another $20 or so.

I realize these are still pretty pricey for hunks of aluminum but they do look pretty snazzy.

So I am gauging whether or not there would be enough interest to go for the group purchase. Otherwise, I will probably end up getting a set as soon as I have about $250 that I want to blow.

I have them on mine. I can probably get the part number off mine if you need it.

Those billet caps are neat, but OUCH on the cost. I guess I don't mind the stock look enough to want to do anything more, even at the reduced price.
