Default Stuffer pins

Just wondered if anyone has taken these out before? Is it simply a case of pushing the tabs in? Never come across them and dont want to break anything! Item 6 in the photo

Plastic tabs like that are common on dozens of different types of push fittings. If you have access the the tabs, then push them in at the same time as pulling out the fitting. Sometimes the fitting is a blind one in which case the tabs have to be snapped off during extraction and the fitting replaced.

Hi thanks for the reply. They are metal tabs? Here is a better picture of the actual item.

I see. That is less common than plastic. You will need to push in the tabs as snapping and replacing is not going to work.

the stuffer pin is really the name of the plastic installation tool.

if you broke the retaining springs you can use dorman 800-093 and replace them instead of doing the new double oring assembly with stuffer pin. either way you have to bend the springs to get them out
