Default Sun Visor Mirror Lid Clip

Hi Guys,
Like everyone else, I have had the plastic break in my visor mirrors. Unfortunately, I have lost one of the small metal spring clips. Anyone have a spare or know of a car being parted out? Thanks, Jeff Labermeier

I have filled in all of the information. I have not gotten any responses about the clip. I have sent a message to someone that I was referred to. I am not sure that I can get replies. I was told that I needed to have 10 posts before I can get messages. A little confused. Jeff

You haven't posted in the New Members section as Graham suggested, if you do there is a good chance of an early upgrade to all the forum benefits including private messages.

If all you need is a small clip in the visor, a dealer might be the easy fix. Even Jag can't charge too much for that part.

OK they could, but I have found they are often reasonable on certain things...like small metal clips.

Thanks Mike, I checked with my local dealer and struck out. Their exploded view on the computer did not even show the clip. Just an expensive quote for an entire visor.

Not available separately so the only options on this are a new visor (from dealer or specialist such as forum sponsor S N G Barratt) or used one from a breaker.

It must be your wife pushing you to get this fixed? Could be interesting to run a poll on how many guys here have ever used the vanity mirror!

One temporary solution would be to switch the drivers and passengers mirror assemblies .......

Default Sun Visor Mirror Spring/Metal Clip

I am looking to replace a lost metal clip to hold the lid open on my mirror. To expand the search, does anyone know if Jaguar may have used the same part on multiple models like X-Type and others? Thanks, Jeff LAbermeier

And that answers the poll question.

While the visors are different, the vanity mirror assemblies are identical in my XK8/R and X Type

I doubt you're ugly. I'm so ugly that I'm not allowed to have a rear view mirror in any of my cars for fear of me seeing myself while driving and having a heart attack! Now that folks - is uuugly.
One consolation of all that uuugly is that when I look over at some hamster brain that won't let me merge into traffic the mere sight of me staring at them makes them give me room. I guess that's because they always panic brake to stay clear of me. Presto! Instant room for me .
