I have a 05 XK8 My sun/moonroof has two arrows that control it. It also has 3 small buttons by the arrows. I accidentally pressed one of the numbered buttons and not my sunroof will not close. Is there a fix to this? What are the number buttons?

 

I've moved your question from X150 to X100 forum. A 2005 is the earlier steel bodied model.

I've never seen an XK8 with a sun roof ...........

3 Roof buttons - Not sure about Jaguars, (I have a base 1999 XK8 convertible) but premium European cars came with a home link option where the roof console buttons were programmable remotes for opening gates, garage doors etc. My Porsche had that option which was very neat and tidy especially as you're not scrabbling for separate remotes.

As for closing the sunroof, you'll need to get access to the motor, (maybe by removing the console) and the mechanism usually has a hex/allen key to manually wind the roof closed/open. Try that.

 

I have no intention of ever adding one, but I am curious to see what your installation looks like.

The only previous discussion I've seen on this topic said our cars were I'll suited for forward placement.

 

I can't find any reference to a sunroof ever being offered on the XK8?

I found out those buttons were a position save (Just like a seat or steering wheel) and I was able to clear them. I now have full use again. Yes I am sure the original owner installed it. Thank you all

 

Would love to see pics (inside and outside) of the sunroof installation and any known details.
