My bet it that is would be cheaper to sell the XK8 and buy an XKR.

Many many have asked the same question. As stated, it'd be better to just buy an R model. For 1 thing the na and supercharged engines have different compression ratios.
who knows how ECM computer tuning parameters would change.
sorry for the bad news. I agree it'd be great to find a way to get another 100hp.

Not viable. Just buy an R.

In addition to the different compression ratios XK8 (w/ 4.0) is 10.75:1 vs the XKR being 9.0:1, the XK8 also features a ZF5HP24 gearbox, frankly this is a weak and problematic gearbox. Due to the increased torque from the supercharger they had to swap out to a Mercedes Benz W5A580 5G-tronic. Your transmission simply could not handle the torque, the ZF box had a lot of trouble with the A-Clutch, which was caused by pressure fluctuation due to a faulty design in the pressure regulator valve. You're best off ditching the XK8 and getting a R model. There are a few downsides, but in time you WILL need to dump some money into the trans if your have the 5HP box.
