I was looking at the above and it seems to list the VINs that have the first gen.
Secondary Chain Tensioners. If I'm reading this right it could save a hassle getting this info from dealer.

The VIN is not the determining factor. Engine # 0108130000 is the break point, but cars built after Aug 13 01 still had the plastic tensioners.

 

My rule on these cars is if in doubt, pull the cam cover. It's quick and easy and definitely worth the time.
