Default Temp gauge

Hi all, To all yanks, Happy Birthday...

Just wondering if anyone knows the location of the sensor, or sensors which feed the on board computer temperature its temp readings.

In fear of an overheat, and knowing the dash gauge ( light) is not accurate, I installed an OBD Scan Gauge.

Seems to work well. Very sensitive. Varies up and down a degree or two often.

Two observations. Just changed oil with a thicker 15w 40 Mobil one as ok'd range in my owners manual. Temp on highway seems a little higher than with the thinner oil.

2nd, cools down 4 to 5 degrees speeds in excess of 80mph.

Thank you all. Rich

Everything you posted sounds reasonable.

The location of the sensor is front and center at the top of the engine. This same sensor also informs the ECU.
