I looked through the posts and see question about things in the trunk that we find not connected. I’m glad to be getting a new battery and found these two cable/hose loose when I (well the strong kid next door) pulled the battery. I’m sure we did not bump anything.
Ahh yes, they all have that. It's the harness for the wine and champagne cooler they were planning to offer as an option but the Ford bean counters shot it down.
It looks like it's the wrong shape connector for the transit isolation relay, unless later cars had a different design. There is also a connector for the boot accessory socket around there somewhere - the only way to be certain is to check the wire colours against the electrical guide for that year car and test the connector with a multimeter. Or alternatively, ignore it.
The X100 has that transit relay. The unit has three connections. (five if you include the negative post in/out connection)
One is the relay trigger and the double male is for the two door modules for the window drop/rise upon opening/closing.

The Lucar connector referred to in the post is the transit relay actuator wire.
That is what the ignition key activates to turn the relay on to energize the car. The windows (door modules) are powered ON at all time so the window glass is not damaged when the doors are opened with the power disconnected by the transit relay.

I think you might be the only person on this forum who has actually physically seen one of these transit relays, whereas everyone else has seen the connectors and thought "what are these for?". I wonder if that loose Lucar spade connector has ever accidentally made contact with the battery positive terminal for exciting results.
