Default Throttle body butterfly position

Hi all, can anyone advise if the butterfly in the throttle body should be completely closed when there is no throttle applied? Noticed today that mine is slightly open and can push on it to close??
Thanks!

Did you adjust it for any other reason?

Had a few vacuum leaks so had the inlet manifold off to sort them out. When returning to idle it's a little slow (sticks at 1000rpm before dropping for a couple of seconds) so when I noticed the butterfly open I thought that may be an issue..

If the ECM wants the throttle closed 'IT WILL CLOSE IT!!!'
If the key is on and your fingers are in the way, the ECM will NOT CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I assume you cleaned the throttle body while you were in there. Gunk buildup will cause sticking, especially stuff on the edges of the butterfly itself.

The throttle body is a fly by wire however, making adjustments that are not calibrated my come back and get you. Not knowing what you adjusted to make it close gives me reason for concern.

Clean is good!

Just thought I'd post an update on this one.. The car will not idle if you set the valve in the closed position! So.. don't mess with the little adjustment bolt for the throttle stop on the throttle body!
